(or Sugar Fritters)

  • 3 to 4 Cups or 42O to 550g flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 - 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons of 60g melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup or 125ml milk
  • sunflower or corn oil
  • Sugar and cinnamon

1. Sift 3 cups/420g of the flour with the baking powder, sugar, and salt. In a     separate bowl, combine the butter with the eggs and milk. Slowly beat in     the flour mixture to form a smooth dough. Gradually add more flour, beat-     ing vigorously, until the dough is stiff

2. Roll out on a lightly floured surface. Shape into small balls about the size     of a walnut and brush with oil. Cover and let stand for 20 minutes.

3. Roll out the balls until they are thin and     flat. Let stand for 10 minutes.


4. Fry in hot oil until golden. Drain on     brown paper and sprinkle with a     mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
